On a Sunday evening after going to bed late, I woke up and was meditating on the Lord and marveling at how he is a poet. Mankind likes literary devices such as similes, foreshadowing, alliteration and rhyming. The Lord uses many of these devices. Jesus and his plan of redemption is foreshadowed in the Old Testament many many times. The Passover lamb foreshadows Christ. Boaz foreshadows Jesus as the ultimate kinsman redeemer who will redeem a bride for himself. I was marveling at how the Lord uses these devices to speak to us. Good writing and authors mimic His devices.
As I was thinking about this, I began to consider how the Lord is also scientific. That indeed, science is in fact discovering how God’s creation works. He is the author of the very theories and laws our universe is ruled by.
My mind thought about E=MC2.

It is such a simple elegant formula that tells us Energy and Matter are different forms of the same thing. It tells us that a little bit of matter contains a lot of energy. Mankind used this concept in a destructive way in creating Atomic Weapons. We use a little bit of Mass and destroy it, but based on the speed of light squared – that little bit of mass contains a huge amount of energy. The atomic bomb used at Hiroshima contained 64 kilograms of mass. It completed destroyed homes over 4,500 acre area. It was a huge amount of energy from only 64 kilograms.

I then considered In a reverse sort of way it would take a Hiroshima Atomic explosion to create 64 kilograms mass. How much energy would it create the world? The world is 5.974e24 Kilograms. It would require 9.33 e+22 Hiroshima energy level explosions to create the world. That is an astronomical amount of energy. Think of trillion Hiroshima explosions lined up one after another. Think of a billion rows of these lines containing a trillion explosions. Imagine you had 9 of these. That gives you a picture of the energy that would be required to make the earth out of energy. That’s just the earth what about the sun?

When we see lightning the very atmosphere can tremble from the release of that energy. Can you imagine being present when God’s word spoke the earth and the sun into creation. Our minds cannot comprehend the amount of energy the very words of God contained. May we tremble before an all powerful God.
God’s word harnessed the energy in a creative directed way that created unique things as he desired. At the end of each day we here that God’s creation was good. His energy directed in love created good things. When man splits the atom what happened to the energy released? We really don’t have any understanding scientifically on how to harness this energy in a positive way. Hiroshima led to utter destruction. That energy was released in a chaotic non-directed way that resulted in destruction. May we never doubt, the power of his word, may we tremble before Him but praise Him for he is good and abounding in love.
God’s voice and release of energy resulted in good creation. We are created in God’s image and we are called to use our words, which have power, to align with God’s word. Our words can have power for good or for evil. If spoken in accordance with God’s will they can be for great good.
Some verses to consider:
Hebrews 11:3
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Isaiah 55:10-11
10 For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Mark 11:22-24
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them
James 3:6
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
