Healing from MS

Ken Fish shares a testimony of a pastor from Maryland who was partially paralyzed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), highlighting key lessons for the Church regarding healing, deliverance, and the importance of recognizing root causes.

Testimony of Pastor with MS from Maryland:

  • Initial Condition: The pastor was in his mid-30s and had advanced MS. He was walking with a crutch, his entire left side was paralyzed, and he was three-quarters blind in his left eye.
  • Medical Background: He had been under care at George Washington University Medical Center.
  • Unusual Vision Issue: The pastor had an odd vision issue where a large portion of his field of vision was blacked out, except for a small quadrant where he could see light. Fish notes that odd fact patterns like this should make a person think that more is going on than meets the eye.
  • Root Cause: The pastor revealed that his father, a Baptist pastor, had tried to kill him with a shotgun when he was young. During the scuffle, the gun’s barrel ended up between his arm and left side, where his MS was most severe. Fish noted that often with MS there is some kind of physical trauma. This event was the root cause of his condition.
  • Trigger: The pastor’s condition worsened after his father died. Fish explains that the father’s death was a “trigger” that allowed the root issue to manifest fully. The need to maintain a facade of family unity had suppressed the issue, and when the father died, that suppression was removed.
  • Deliverance and Inner Healing: The ministry team prayed for the pastor, and when they did not see progress they sought Fish to pray. Fish then commanded the demons to leave, which resulted in the pastor manifesting on the ground. After that, Fish led him through inner healing to deal with the trauma and anger related to his father’s attempted murder. Fish calls this “power inner healing” which he says is different than slow methodical counseling.
  • Immediate Physical Improvement: After the ministry, the pastor was immediately able to get up and run around the church.
  • Medical Verification: The pastor went back to George Washington University for a new set of tests and scans. The new medical report stated that he no longer had MS. The doctor refused to comment on previous medical reports.
  • Legal Implications: The pastor’s medical records were used as evidence when he was sued for fraud by the state of Maryland and the US Department of Health, Education, and Welfare because he was no longer claiming disability benefits. The judge dismissed the case.
  • Type of Healing: Fish explains that this was a yaomai healing, which is a healing that includes deliverance

Lessons for the Church from the Testimony:

  • Importance of Recognizing Root Causes: The testimony highlights that physical ailments can have underlying spiritual or emotional root causes, and that deliverance and inner healing can be necessary for complete healing.
  • Roots and Triggers: The story illustrates the concepts of “roots” and “triggers”. The attempted murder was the “root” of the pastor’s MS, and the death of his father was the “trigger” that exacerbated the condition.
  • Deliverance is a Power Ministry: Deliverance is not just saying words or waving hands, it is a “power ministry”. He references Jesus driving out demons by the “finger of God”.
  • Deliverance and Inner Healing: The story highlights the importance of inner healing as part of the deliverance process. The speaker emphasizes that past trauma can be a root for demonic activity and needs to be addressed for a complete healing.
  • The Church Should Pursue the Miraculous: This testimony serves as an example of the miraculous and the type of ministry the Church should be pursuing.
  • God is Involved in the Details: The story notes that the location of the gunshot wound was also where the MS was most severe. The story highlights how God is intricately involved in every detail of life.
  • Healing Often Requires Deliverance: Fish uses this story as an example to show that healing often requires deliverance.

In summary, the testimony of the Maryland pastor with MS demonstrates the power of deliverance and inner healing in addressing physical ailments that have spiritual and emotional roots. It emphasizes the need for the Church to recognize the importance of addressing root causes and engaging in ministries that offer a path to holistic healing. This testimony serves as an example of the miraculous and the type of ministry the Church should be pursuing, while recognizing that Jesus wins.
